There is much more behind every bottle and can of spring water than you might imagine.

At Little Hampton, we believe where our water comes from matters — but so does what happens after it leaves the spring.

Our pure natural spring water originates in Victoria’s renowned Hepburn region and is transported to our Victorian production facility, where it is filled and packaged under carefully controlled conditions.

From advanced filling equipment and dedicated water production lines to quality control, packing and distribution, here’s a look behind the scenes at how we bring Little Hampton Spring Water to tables, venues and customers across Australia.

Australian Spring Water Production in Victoria

From advanced filling equipment and dedicated water production lines to quality control, packing and distribution, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at Australian spring water production and how we bring Little Hampton Spring Water to tables, venues and customers across Australia.

Our production facility at Aquaworks in Doveton, has been developed specifically around water manufacturing and packaging.

Modern filling and packaging equipment allows us to work across multiple packaging formats while maintaining stringent food safety and quality standards throughout production.

For Little Hampton, our focus is on two premium formats: recyclable aluminium cans and glass bottles, available in both Still and Sparkling Spring Water.

But one of the most interesting things about walking through a water production facility is seeing just how much happens before a finished bottle or can reaches the shelf.

Ever Wondered How a Water Bottle Begins?

You might be surprised to discover that a plastic water bottle can begin life looking like this.

PET preforms before bottle production at an Australian spring water bottling facility
It all starts here. PET preforms are heated before being formed into full-size bottles as part of the production process at our Victorian facility.

Those small tube-shaped pieces are known as PET preforms.

Before becoming bottles, PET preforms are heated to the required temperature and then formed into their final bottle shape. From there, bottles travel through the production line ready for the next stages of the manufacturing process.

From PET preform to bottle — a behind-the-scenes look at part of the production process inside our Victorian facility.

While Little Hampton is packaged in glass and aluminium, PET production is another capability within the broader facility and provides a fascinating look at the technology behind modern water manufacturing.

Inside Our Aluminium Canning Line

For Little Hampton, aluminium has become an important part of our range.

Our 375mL Still and Sparkling Spring Water cans combine the quality of our Victorian spring water with convenient, recyclable aluminium packaging.

And this is where they come to life.

The canning process requires specialised equipment designed to move cans efficiently through the various stages of filling, sealing and packaging.

Seeing the line operating is very different from seeing the finished product on a restaurant table or sitting on ice — and it's one of the reasons we enjoy sharing these behind-the-scenes views of Little Hampton.

A Dedicated Water-Only Canning Line

One feature of our operation we're particularly proud of is our dedicated water-only canning line.

The line is used for water production rather than being shared with soft drinks, juices or flavoured beverages.

For us, that distinction matters.

Little Hampton is all about allowing the natural character of the spring water to speak for itself. There is no need for flavours or unnecessary additions — just pure natural spring water with a light, balanced mineral profile.

Our Little Hampton aluminium range includes:

Both provide an alternative to traditional bottled water for restaurants, cafés, events, workplaces and everyday drinking.

Little Hampton in Glass

Glass remains at the heart of Little Hampton's premium hospitality range.

Our glass collection is available in 350mL and 750mL bottles, with both Still and Sparkling Spring Water options.

The clean presentation of glass makes it particularly well suited to restaurant tables, hotels, cafés, functions and hospitality venues looking for premium Australian spring water.

It also gives venues the ability to offer their customers an Australian alternative across both individual and table-sized formats.

Quality From Production to Pallet

Producing premium spring water isn't simply about filling a bottle or can.

Quality and food safety controls form part of the process from water handling and production through to finished-product packing.

Our facility operates under recognised food safety and quality systems, helping ensure Little Hampton is produced consistently and carefully before leaving our facility.

The result is the same water we're proud to put the Little Hampton name on — whether it's destined for a restaurant table, hotel room, event, retailer or someone's home.

Packed and Ready for Distribution

Once production is complete, Little Hampton products are packed into cartons, palletised and prepared for distribution.

From production to pallet — Little Hampton Sparkling Spring Water packed and ready for distribution.

From our Victorian facility, Little Hampton travels through distributors and wholesale partners to hospitality venues, businesses, retailers and customers across Australia.

For us, seeing a finished pallet ready to leave the facility is the final step in a much longer journey — one that began with natural Australian spring water.

From Victorian Spring to Australian Tables

Little Hampton began with a simple idea: to create a premium Australian spring water that celebrates both the quality of the water itself and where it comes from.

Our spring water originates in Victoria's Hepburn region, an area renowned for its natural springs and mineral waters.

Naturally filtered through the surrounding geology, the water develops its light, balanced mineral profile before being carefully collected and transported for filling at our Victorian production facility.

Today, we offer Little Hampton across glass bottles and recyclable aluminium cans, with Still and Sparkling options designed for hospitality, events, workplaces and homes.

And while most people only ever see the finished bottle or can, we hope this glimpse behind the scenes shows just how much goes into getting Little Hampton from Victorian spring to Australian table.
